Still unable to decide
whether or not I should return
to Japan for good,
I decided to go back
for a two-month trial stay.
I wanted to travel around
and see what Japan
was like now.
My journey overseas
had started almost as if
I were escaping from Japan,
because I had felt
so confined there.
So I told myself
that if those same feelings
came back,
I could simply return
to Melbourne.
Before going back to Japan,
I had an encounter
that I felt would greatly
change my life.
It was with
Masanori Nishikawa,
a bicycle adventurer.
At that time,
he was traveling around the world
by bicycle,
while giving lessons
that connected local elementary
schools overseas
with an elementary school
in Shinchi Town, Fukushima,
through Skype.
