“I can go again.”
“What kind of possibilities
might be waiting for me?”
I held those thoughts
close to my heart
as I sat on the plane,
flying away.
After arriving in Melbourne,
I stayed at a backpackers’ hostel
while looking for a place to live
through a local Japanese newspaper.
But at the first house
I moved into,
I didn’t get along well
with the landlord,
and in the end,
I was basically kicked out.
The second place
was the home of
the Gleeson family,
which was introduced to me
through my school.
They took such good care of me
that I can truly call them
my Australian family.
Even now,
they continue to support me
in so many ways.
